Time for McCausland to Deal With the Issues

Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:
“The “reply” from Nelson McCausland to my comments on the Draft Bill on Parading is noteworthy only because it address none of the points which I raised.
“Mr McCausland does not tell us why the statutory Code of Conduct hasn’t been published. What are they hiding? Clause 2(3)(e) is of immense significance in that it will elevate local dialogue with objectors – often orchestrated – to a point where under a statutory code it is expected, even required.
“Mr McCausland does not address the fact that McGuinness as Joint First Minister will be able to appoint his own placemen as Adjudicators.
“Mr McCauland does not dispute that other panel members could be convicted criminals, even terrorists, because only new convictions, after their appointment, rule them out.
“Mr McCauland does not dispute that the proposals are extremely bureaucratic.
“So let’s debate the issues, Nelson, not avoid them with a load of waffle.”
