Traditional Unionist leader Jim Allister has called for a police investigation into Gerry Adams.

Mr Allister said:

“The allegation that Gerry Adams ordered one of the most brutal and infamous murders committed during the Troubles – that of mother of 10 Jean McConville – is extremely serious. Of course it is nothing new to hear allegations about Adams being involved in the Provisional IRA. However, it behoves the PSNI to launch an immediate investigation into Adams’s alleged role in this specific incident.

“The latest reports are a timely reminder of the blood-soaked history of Irish Republicanism. Jean McConville was just one of thousands who suffered at the hands of the Provisional IRA.”
