Statement by TUV East Belfast candidate David Vance:

“Peter Robinson’s confirmation today that he will remain as a double-jobber after the Westminster election means that the people of East Belfast will be presented with a clear choice in the upcoming poll. Do they want a part-time MP who will only turn up to Parliament sporadically on days when he has nothing better to do or do they want someone who ensure that East Belfast has a vocal, full-time voice in the Commons?

“Peter Robinson is on record as saying: “It is simply not possible to sustain and fully perform multiple roles whether they involve other elected positions or indeed interests outside Parliament” yet that is exactly what Peter Robinson has been doing for years and, as he confirmed today, will continue to do!

“I as the TUV candidate pledge to offer the people of East Belfast full-time representation in the Mother of Parliament.”
