Responding to news that the by-election to fill the vacancy on Castlereagh Council left by disgraced DUP MP, MLA and Councillor Iris Robinson will be held on 6th May a TUV spokesperson said:

“TUV regrets the delay before this by-election is to be held. We believe that, as predicted, political machinations have reaped dividends and the by-election date has been set in order to spare the DUP’s blushes ahead of the Westminster election.

“That said, TUV looks forward to contesting the election and offering the people of Castlereagh a fresh face to represent them”.
