Ards TUV Councillors George Ennis and Terry Williams responding to the announcement of Iris Robinson's retirement from public life said, "Whereas we have deep political differences with Iris Robinson on policy, particularly her support for terrorist-inclusive government, we are sorry to learn of her ill health. We wish her full recovery in retirement.
"It is important that Strangford is not left unrepresented in Parliament and therefore clarity needs to be brought as to whether a parliamentary by-election will be held, or if not, what arrangements will be in place till the Westminster election."
