Ballymoney TUV councillor Audrey Patterson has criticised those behind an attack on Rasharkin Orange Hall over the weekend.

Councillor Patterson said:

“This is the latest in a spate of incidents. Indeed, in an interview just last week the Grand Master of the Initiation, Robert Saulters, referred to attacks which had been carried out on Rasharkin Orange Hall.

“These cowardly attacks have been rightly viewed by the minority community of the village as an assault upon the entire Protestant population. Orange Halls are at the very heart of the community, not just during the marching season but all year round.

“Attacks such as these display the blatant sectarianism of Republicans and their hatred for all things associated with Loyalism or Protestantism.

“I would appeal for anyone with information about the incident to come forward to the police.”
