Traditional Unionist Voice Vice Chairman Keith Harbinson has called on senior Republicans to condemn the continuing attacks on the Orange Order, their members and their properties.

“Last weekend we heard inflammatory remarks from Martin McGuiness where he accused the Orange Order of sectarianism, and this weekend we see an attack on Greencastle Orange Hall, an attack on the Whiterock parade, and an attack on the car of an Orange Order member at Aghadavey in Co Antrim where CIRA was spray painted onto his car whilst he paraded to and from a Sunday Service.

“McGuiness must accept responsibility for his comments and accept that they have at best not helped in light of these latest attacks, and at worst incited hatred towards a certain element of the community in Northern Ireland.  I would remind McGuiness that the ministerial code requires him to promote the interests of the whole community in Northern Ireland.  It is high time the Republican leadership took responsibility and called on their community to cease such attacks immediately.”
