Jim Allister MLA has warned Ballymoney constituents to boil all water before drinking.

Mr Allister was after Northern Ireland Water identified a quality issue with water supplied to the Ballymoney area.

Mr Allister stated:

"I would warn all constituents within the Ballmoney area to boil any water before drinking.

It would appear that there are quality concerns regarding the water supply to the Ballymena Road area of Ballymoney town, Bann Road, Bendooragh, Balnamore, Finvoy, Ballymoney.

NIW have reassured me that they are investigating the problem which may be linked to the recent renovation of water mains in the area.

I would congratuate NIW on responding to the problem so quickly and acting to ensure that they have liased with the Public Health Agency as well as Ballymoney Borough Council to elimate any health risks to the public.
