Statement by TUV councillor Roy Gillespie:

“I greatly welcome the fact that after a protracted legal wrangle Tuesday’s court ruling appears to have resolved the issue of who should carry out the necessary repairs to Kilrea Road outside Cullybackey.

“I am encouraged to hear from Road Service that they intend to commence the much needed work within a matter of weeks and from what I have heard there seems to be a genuine desire within Road Service to finally deal with this matter as quickly as possible. The Kilrea road serves a rural community. It is a vital part of the roads network within North Antrim and its repair will restore that network to the standard rightly demanded and expected by local people.”
