TUV leader Backs Douglas

Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister MLA:
“To even suggest that Boyd was in breach of council policy by displaying a party symbol is preposterous. Councillor Douglas was in a political chamber. He was elected to that chamber by people who voted for him when he stood as a TUV candidate and his name on the ballot paper had the TUV party symbol beside it.
“Legal advice which would suggest that Boyd is in breach of any policy is, to my mind, bizarre .
“The Unionist people of Limavady are supposed to tolerate having a convicted murderer as their mayor while Republicans are so bigoted that they cannot even put up with the symbol of another party.”
