PSNI should come clean on arms find

Statement by TUV security spokesperson Alex Elliott:
“Following the recent stop and search arrests in Keady and further searches in South Armagh, the PSNI have been extremely quiet as to what exactly the type of weaponry found was.
“I have been reliably informed that the Keady arrests were related to the discovery of yet more Provo semtex that was allegedly decommissioned.
“Why the secrecy? Is it too painful for the PSNI to remind us that there never has been a peace process nor dare they mention the failed decommissioning? Is it that so-called dissidents have allegedly got their hands on an even more deadly device that can penetrate up to four inches of armour plating known as an explosively formed projectile (EFP)?
“So-called dissident Republicans posse a serious threat and the PSNI need to adopt an effective counter terrorist strategy. The PSNI need to come clean and inform the public as well as all their officers of the daily risks involved and the threat they are under both on and off duty. Let us have the facts!”
