Statement by TUV Upper Bann Assembly candidate David Vance:

“Any bomb scare is disgusting and reprehensible but when it takes place just outside a school it is particularly wicked. Parents send their children to school with the expectation that it is one of the safest places a youngster can be. Yet today terrorists have, at the very least, brought fear and disruption to the lives of pupils. Not only that, but they have done so on the verge of crucial GCSE examinations.

“Over the last few days we have heard many words of condemnation for the brutal murder of Constable Kerr. Those are welcome. However, the widespread anger of the community doesn’t make terrorism go away. It’s time that robust security measures were taken to combat violent Republicanism.”
