Statement by Mid Ulster TUV Assembly candidate Walter Millar:

“I would commend the PSNI for their excellent work in uncovering a large amount of weaponry in Coalisland.

“Sadly violent Republicanism continues to pose a very real threat in Mid Ulster. The fact that the police appeared to have uncovered a quantity of semtex (the Provisional’s explosive of choice) and a number of Kalashnikovs (the Provisional’s assault rifle of choice) reinforces my belief that so-called dissents have access to PIRA weaponry – something which I find very difficult to square with the claims of some that the decommissioning process is now complete.

“I would echo the call of TUV leader Jim Allister for HM Government to publish a full inventory of the weapons which were destroyed in the decommissioning process.”
